Actress Meryl Streep has revealed her secret addiction to British daytime TV programmes, admitting she loves real-estate based shows such as ‘Homes Under the Hammer’.

The Oscar winner made the revelation while promoting her new film Florence Foster Jenkins on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, alongside co-star Hugh Grant.

“I’m addicted to everything where they do real estate. I love ‘Grand Designs’ and ‘Homes Under the Hammer’,” Steep told Norton.

The actress then gave a special shout-out to Channel 4’s ‘Come Dine With Me’, which she described as ‘fabulous’.

While on Norton’s sofa Streep also revealed that she hates her Oscar-nominated performance in The French Lieutenant's Woman.

When asked if there was an acting performance of her's she didn’t rate Steep said: “Oh yes, but, I'm not going to tell you which film.”

“You won't guess because I collected awards for it and it was venerated, but I was young and new at it and I wasn't living the role.”

Eventually Streep revealed that the movie in question was the 1981 drama, which also starred Jeremy Irons. -contactmusic.com

Driverless cars in Beverly Hills

The Beverly Hills City Council voted unanimously this week to adopt a resolution to develop driverless vehicles that will provide public transportation throughout the city.

The program is part of Beverly Hills mayor John Mirisch's plan for a municipally owned fleet of autonomous vehicles that would function as an on demand car shuttle service to and from any address in the city.

The distance comprises only of 5.7 square miles, Mirisch feels its ideal for Beverly Hills.

"Beverly Hills is the perfect community to take the lead and make this technology a reality," he said. -hollywoodreporter.com

Three new species of primates found

Scientists from the German Primate Center, the University of Kentucky, the American Duke Lemur Center and the Université d'Antananarivo in Madagascar have described three new species of mouse lemurs.

They live in the South and East of Madagascar and increase the number of known Mouse Lemur species to 24.

As little as 20 years ago, only two species of these small, nocturnal primates were known.

New genetic methods and expeditions to remote areas have made the new descriptions possible.
