If you're ready to put your house on the market... put a check by each of these things before a buyer crosses the threshold.
1. Identify Small Improvements You Can Make In Each Room
Take a walk through each room and pick out at least 3 things you can improve or fix, such as:
smudges on walls, carpet stains, missing trim, ripped screens, light fixtures and complete an overall thorough cleaning.
2. Make Sure Those Windows Are Sparkling
Cleaning the windows inside and out is an easy way to help make a good first impression while allowing the natural light in to give your home a light airy presence. Best done prior to professional photos also.
3. Make Sure You have Plenty of Interior Lighting
Again, lighting is important to helping your home show well especially for those showings scheduled after work hours.
4. Get Rid of the Clutter
Less is definitely more! Buyers need to envision themselves living in the home. Its difficult to do that when they see all the baby pics, your collection of 10,000 statues of unicorns situated about every available space and sports gear strewn about. Even if you have to rent a space to remove them from view, by all means do if you really want to sell the house.
5. Upgrade Your Landscaping
Good Curb appeal is extremely important for the pics as well as giving the appearance that the home has been well cared for. Cleaning up yard waste, planting flowers, fresh mulch are cost effective ways to give the exterior vitality.
