Beach House Near MaraLago Under Contract Listed At $25 Million

The price must have been right.

Or so it would seem for the uber-contemporary-style house just down the street from the uber-vintage Mar-a-Lago, where President Donald Trump is expected to arrive today and be in residence for at least part of this weekend.

Agent Traci DeGeorge of Waterfront Properties and Club Communities is reporting that she has landed a serious buyer for 1045 S. Ocean Blvd. after re-listing it at $25 million at the beginning of November. That price reflected a $2.5 million drop from its asking last season.

“It was under contract in 24 days,” DeGeorge says. “I had multiple offers.”

At nearly 10,000 total square feet, the four-bedroom house was built in 1970 but was extensively renovated by the late magicJack communications entrepreneur Dan Borislow. It’s being sold by his widow, Michele “Shelly” Borislow. With 226 feet of beachfront, the property measures nearly an acre, including a vacant lot on its north side.

The public rooms feature a series of arches that frame expansive windows and define the open floor plan. Of special note is a massive glass-front wine-storage wall that greets visitors as they enter through the arched glass entry doors. The wine wall is nearly as dramatic as the ocean views afforded by the living room windows beyond.

No word yet on how much will change hands in the Borislow deal, the buyer or the date of the closing.

There’s been a lot of talk since Mar-a-Lago became the winter White House nearly a year ago about whether the traffic restrictions that accompany the president’s visits would deter house-hunters from buying in the area.

And with this pending sale of what had been the most expensive house in the neighborhood, those who say the president’s presence has become pretty much a non-issue have a little more evidence to back up their view.

Need more evidence? Two developers on Monday closed deals for vacant oceanfront land in the same Trump-affected area. As reported this week in the Daily News, a lot at 916 S. Ocean Blvd. sold for a recorded $12 million, while one next door at No. 910 went for $7.4 million. Agent Jim McCann of theCorcoran Group was the listing agent opposite Fite Group agents Martin Conroy and Dean Stokes, who are now marketing a mansion proposed for developed on speculation at No. 901.
