Puerto Rico Declares It Is Officially Open For Tourism


SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Puerto Rico is open for tourism as it kicks-off its winter season on December 20th and just in time for the holidays. More than 100 hotels are open and operating. More than four thousand restaurants are taking orders and serving up delicious cuisine. Major tourism attractions Island-wide have been cleaned up and restored. This announcement was made today by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), the official governing body of the tourism industry.

The Island welcomed over 7,000 cruisers this past November 30, the first batch of passengers following Hurricanes Irma and Maria from cruises making a transit stop on the Island. Tourists are seen here dancing on the streets enjoying an extremely warm welcome from local performers.
