The most popular days for a garage sale are Thursday through Saturday and on a non-holiday weekend.
Price everything 10-50% of the original price depending on condition. Price in 25 cent increments and mark "as is".
Post signs on street corners big enough for those driving by can see as well as advertising in local paper or craig's list. Balloons and large arrows also help direct traffic to your sale.
Toys, Infant's and children's clothing, furniture, kitchen gadgets, sporting and camping gear as well as workshop and garden tools sell well.
Don't forget to add in your old paperback books, music and movies.
