Don't be surprised if a REALTOR(r) asks you for your driver's license.
After the 2014 murder of an Arkansas real estate agent, Realtors throughout the country were forced to examine their security practices. Real estate agents show hundreds of homes during the year to many people who they have never met before. Although the incidents of violence is relatively small, the risk still exists.
If you are a new client and are planning to see houses with a real estate agent, do not be offended if the agent asks to make a copy of your drivers license. Almost all real estate offices now require their agents to adhere to this practice to help insure the safety of their agents. Also, unless the agent has already met you or knows you personally or as a referral from someone else they know, don't be surprised if the agent asks you to meet them at their office first before going to see properties
Keeping in mind your real estate agent and your safety is important to all concerned.
